Charing & District Local History Society
Charing & District Local History Society is also known as CDLHS for short
We are a group of around 100 members, who take an interest in local history.
Headed up by a committee of elected members, we run a regular programme of lectures and outings, and also offer guided tours of the village.
We usually have a few projects on the go.
Through its research, the Society has also published a number of books on Charing history.
We help with enquiries where we can. (cdlhssecretary@outlook.com)

Archbishop’s Palace Update
As of October 2026 there are no further open days planned and, while we are still waiting to hear news of a completion, it is believed that the sale is continuing to go through.
